39 Million Schwab Accounts Are About to Get Access to This Token
Schwab named it a tokenization leader. Goldman and BlackRock both have assets running on its chain. The token is still more than 90% below its peak.
Most of the layer-1 trade this cycle has been about speed, memes, and airdrops. This one is about paperwork, and that is exactly why you should pay attention.
A major brokerage just singled it out as a tokenization leader and plans to add it to its trading platform before year-end.
Buried Energy Ticker (Sponsored)
QUIZ: In 1976, a Chevron crew hit an energy source powerful enough to run a city. What did they do next?
A) Announce it to shareholders
B) Sell the rights
C) Develop it
D) Bury the project
We thought the answer would be obvious.
Then we examined what Unocal and Texaco found when they drilled the same source — and why the technology they buried just attracted a 15-year contract from Google, $100 million from Bill Gates, and a tax advantage from Washington that runs through 2033.
See the answer — and the company at the center of it

Meet the Pick
Avalanche (AVAX) is a layer-1 blockchain built around fast finality and custom subnets that institutions can configure with their own rules. If you have followed tokenization at all, you have probably come across it without realizing it.
The California DMV put digital car titles on it. Wyoming chose it for its state-backed stablecoin. BlackRock’s BUIDL tokenized fund holds hundreds of millions on the network. The Dubai DIFC Courts fingerprint every court order on Avalanche’s C-Chain. The UAE PASS Digital Vault has served more than 12 million users.
What Is Running on the Chain Right Now
Avalanche has quietly become one of the go-to rails for regulated assets that need to live on a public blockchain. As of mid-October, the network hosted more than 1,255 tokenized real-world assets worth more than $13 billion. That is a lot of institutional infrastructure sitting on a network the market is still pricing like a 2021 casualty.
Tokenized US Treasuries on Avalanche hit $545 million by the end of the third quarter, up roughly 14% from Q2 and about 4 times where they started the year. Onchain credit loan volume set a record that same quarter, up 34% from the prior period.
The Names Showing Up on Its Rails
Aave activated its V4 upgrade on Avalanche. Grove anchored Galaxy’s first tokenized collateralized loan obligation on the network.
Goldman Sachs made a roughly $100 billion Treasury fund available through Lynq, a private settlement network built on top of Avalanche, serving more than 30 institutional counterparties including Wintermute, FalconX, and B2C2.
None of this requires you to hold AVAX. But it does mean the chain is getting used by institutions that had plenty of other options, which is not a small thing.
Action: The tokenized Treasury and credit figures are the ones to track quarter by quarter. Sustained growth there is the backbone of the longer-term case. A stall is your first signal to reassess. |

Financial Outlook and Market Position
The Schwab Catalyst
Charles Schwab recently named Avalanche a leader in real-world assets and institutional blockchain use. Schwab CEO Rick Wurster confirmed the firm plans to add AVAX, SOL, and LINK to its crypto platform by year-end, following the launch of bitcoin and ether trading earlier this year.
Why This One Has Legs
Schwab has roughly 39 million active brokerage accounts, many belonging to people who have never opened a crypto exchange account. The listing puts AVAX one click away for a pool of advisors and retail holders who can't currently buy it without using a dedicated crypto platform.
A spot AVAX ETF has been trading on the NYSE since April 2026, and VanEck runs a staked AVAX product alongside it. A direct brokerage listing stacks on top of those 2 regulated entry points, giving AVAX a distribution setup that most altcoins are still waiting for.
The Helicon Upgrade and What Came After
Avalanche’s Helicon upgrade went live on mainnet in late September, adding auto-renewed staking, a shorter minimum staking period of 48 hours, and a dynamic minimum gas price.
The token ran ahead of the launch and faded once it was live, a textbook buy-the-rumor pattern. The upgrade itself was not the problem. The market just needed a new reason to reprice, and the Schwab listing is set up to be it.
Action: The Schwab listing is the near-term event worth tracking. If it goes live and pulls meaningful flow, that is the thesis working. If Schwab delays or quietly removes AVAX from its expansion plans, reassess quickly. |

Whitney Tilson shocked the nation on 60 Minutes when he accused a major company of poisoning its customers.
The investigation won an Emmy and the stock fell nearly 80%.
(He also called the housing crisis and the collapse of Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers).
Now, he's releasing his next big story.
He says the day after our upcoming midterm elections, America will enter a period of economic change unlike anything we've seen in decades.
And most investors are unprepared for what's coming.

Bear Case
The Chart Is Not Cooperating
The bull case above is genuinely interesting. The price chart is not confirming any of it yet. A death cross has been flagged on the weekly timeframe. AVAX has been in a downtrend for months while the institutional headlines stacked up. An institutional whale recently moved a significant AVAX position to Coinbase, which typically signals an intent to sell.
ETF demand tells a similar story. The spot AVAX ETFs have accumulated a fraction of what Solana ETFs hold. The gap is more than 30 to 1 in Solana’s favor, which is a clear signal of where institutional capital has been choosing to park.
The Supply Ceiling
Around 444 million AVAX tokens are in circulation out of a total supply of 470 million, with a hard cap of 720 million. That leaves roughly 250 million tokens that have not entered the market yet, and staking rewards add new supply on top of that every year. For AVAX to move sustainably higher, demand has to keep pace with supply that is not stopping.
The fully diluted valuation sits close to the current market cap. That is the good news: most of the dilution is already priced in and visible. It does not make the supply dynamic a tailwind. It just means you are not getting hit by a hidden cliff.
Where the Adoption Story Gets Complicated
More than $13 billion in tokenized assets on Avalanche and a market cap in the low single-digit billions looks like an obvious dislocation. The complication is that most of that $13 billion generates minimal fees for the network.
A BlackRock fund parked on Avalanche rails does not push any demand for AVAX. The connection between institutional asset volume on the chain and actual token demand is there, but it is thin.
ICE has been testing Avalanche for 24/7 tokenized stock trading for close to a year with no formal deal announced.
The DIFC Courts use it to fingerprint court orders, which generates negligible fees. These partnerships prove the chain is taken seriously. They do not, by themselves, move the token.
Action: Size this like an asset in a downtrend with an upcoming catalyst, because that is what it is. A sharp drawdown from here is within range. Build your position accordingly and have a plan before you enter. |
Outlook and Investment Thesis
Where This Sits Today
Avalanche has built the institutional rails that most layer-1s are still selling as a vision. Tokenized Treasuries, government use cases, Goldman fund access, a Wall Street exchange quietly running tests for 24/7 trading. The infrastructure is there. The token is priced like it is not.
What AVAX has been missing is a reason for everyday buyers to show up. The Schwab listing is designed to be that reason. Cumulative verified contracts on the network are approaching 950,000. DEX volume climbed 29% recently to $4.1 billion, led by Pharaoh Exchange. The underlying network is growing. The market just has not caught up.
What to Watch
Watch for Schwab to open AVAX trading before year-end. That is the single clearest near-term catalyst, and the firm has already committed to it publicly.
Watch quarterly tokenized Treasury and on-chain credit figures. If both keep growing, the institutional case deepens. If either flattens, that is worth paying attention to.
Watch spot AVAX ETF inflows once brokerage access widens. Schwab opening the listing is one thing. Whether that pulls capital into the ETFs is the follow-through that validates the thesis.
Watch ICE for any formal announcement around tokenized stock trading. A concrete deal from the NYSE’s parent company would shift how the market prices this network.
Watch network fee revenue. There is a gap between the volume of assets running on Avalanche and the fees flowing back to the token. That gap closing is what changes the valuation story.
